Railroad Street Bar and Grill, Linfield, PA

This summer, I was visiting Linfield, Pennsylvania, a small town with a relatively small population. In this town, there is a popular restaurant called Railroad Street Bar and Grill. Railroad Street definitely earns its name because it is right next to a railroad. I was lucky enough to see a train go by through a perfectly placed window that shows the whole train track.
When you walk in, it is almost like walking into a railroad station. You walk straight into their bar to get to the waitresses that take you to your seat. The service is very nice, and their recommendations are really useful. That is how I decided on getting their Mac n’ Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Because I couldn’t refuse to try both, I ordered both the Original Mac n’ Cheese and the Mac n’ Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich.
The Mac n’ Cheese Grilled Cheese Sandwich was delicious, but personally, I thought the mac n’ cheese was too greasy and oily (not a thick consistent cheese flavor). The bread was a super delicious garlic-butter toast that tasted like Texas toast with all of the flavors and spices. This is the best grilled cheese that I have ever had, although it tasted almost like a cheese quesadilla. The Havarti cheese perfectly melted in your mouth and had a nice chewiness along with the soft noodles. The bread’s flavor got a little bit too powerful for the mac n’ cheese because, at times, I wouldn’t taste the mac n’ cheese, only the bread; but overall, I would have this Grilled Cheese Mac n’ Cheese the next time I am in Pennsylvania.
Ah! The Original Mac n’ Cheese, the gooey, oily, cheesy, and buttery beautiful-ness of it. The flavor of the cheese was sharp and the cheese was soft but somewhat sandy, probably because of the Havarti (one of the cheeses that are used for this mac n’ cheese), being a milk cheese can cause some sandiness. Although, the flavor of the cheese was ultimately buttery with a little spice here and there, and better than the mac and cheese on the sandwich, for some reason. The noodles were really soft Cappatelli noodles, that were somewhat chewy in some parts of the mac n’ cheese.
The mac n’ cheese tasted almost like the Grilled Cheese Mac n’ Cheese, but less garlic flavor. I would definitely recommend this to a friend who loves mac n’ cheese. I would also recommend this mac n’ cheese to someone who isn’t so big on mac n’ cheese for hopes of making them like mac n’ cheese. I loved how the mac n’ cheese was served in a nice small ceramic bowl full of a perfect side serving of mac n’ cheese. The mac n’ cheese seemed to stick to the edges after it cooled off from being baked in an oven for, what seemed like, forever (because I was super hungry).
